One of the few characters you can get for free in GenshinPulse Genshin Guide Impact is Xiangling, the head chef at the Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue. You can recruit Xiangling to your roster as part of the People's Choice event, which is permanently available — just finish the Spiral Abyss on Floor 3, Chamber 3.
Xiangling is a four-star Pyro character that wields a polearm. She's been featured on many other time-limited banners, and it's likely that many people have her on their roster. If you want to level up her talents and ascend her, here's what you'll need.
Leveling Materials

If you want to level Xiangling up to the maximum of level 90, you'll need to earn her 8,362,650 EXP. This will likely be done primarily by using EXP materials, which you can use in whatever combination works. However, here's one combination that will get you there, as well as the Mora necessary:

As a Pyro character, Xiangling uses Agnidus Agate to ascend. Here's how many of each you'll need to ascend her completely:

However, you'll also need some other items, too. Each time you ascend Xiangling, you'll need some Slime drops and Jueyun Chilis. From the first ascension onward, you'll also need Everflame Seeds, which are dropped by Liyue's Pyro Regisvine.
Slimes are found all over the place, and you shouldn't have much issue finding enough of them to ascend Xiangling. Jueyun Chilis are found growing in batches of three around Liyue. You'll likely find a lot of them near Jueyun Karst and Qingce Village. Wanmin Restaurant's Chef Mao, who is also Xiangling's father, will sell you five Jueyun Chilis for 1,000 Mora each. His supply will restock every three days. You can also grow them in your Serenitea Pot.
