Inmate Confesses to False Testimony in High-Profile Murder Case

MANILA – A prisoner serving a life sentence has confessed he gave a false story about the 2018 murder of Dominic Sytin in Olongapo City.

In an official, signed statement before a notary, the inmate, Mr. Dennis Sytin Luib, admitted he wrongly accused Dennis Sytin, Dominic's brother, of planning the killing.

Mr. Luib, who is already in jail for his part in the crime, said he could no longer live with the lie. “I made a grave mistake, and I can no longer carry the burden of my false declaration,” Luib said. “Mr. Dennis Sytin is not responsible for his brother’s death. I hope this is my way of showing repentance.”

His wife helped him make the statement official.

This new information could change the whole murder case and might bring justice to those affected.
