One study found that tadalafil taken once a day improved erectile function in men with ED and sexual quality in couples. Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) announced the results of a placebo-controlled, double-blind study that found a dose of 5 mg tadalafil taken once daily was generally well tolerated and erectile function in men with erectile dysfunction ( ED) improved. Results of the study
The 16-week, double-blind, multicenter, randomized study examined 342 men with at least a three-month history of ED, as well as their partners. During the first four-week break-in period of the study, the men were not treated for ED and were asked to do a minimum of four sexual activities with their partners. In the second, 12-week treatment phase of the study, men were selected to receive either placebo (N = 78) or tadalafil 5 mg (N = 264) and take it once a day. They were asked to engage in sexual activities with their partners at least once a week.
